Our unit is a studio is best suited for two people. Daily maid service is not included in our rate, however if you wish this service it is available to you at an additional cost. We also offer a very personalized grocery deliver service! Once you’ve confirmed your accommodations we can provide you with a grocery list that you simply fill out and return and we arrange to have the groceries delivers and stocked in our unit prior to your arrival. This service is wonderful especially if you plan on arriving late in the day. How great is that! You’re sure to enjoy the great proximity to Kaanapali Beach and Whalers Village which is directly next door. The village is Maui’s largest outdoor shopping mall and entertainment center. You’ll find a myriad of some of the finest restaurants Maui has to offer along with great boutique shopping and evening entertainment. Lahaina Towne is only a short 10 minute ride into town. If you’re inclined to play golf you also have two excellent 18 hole golf courses right in your back yard in addition The Whaler features a very nice tennis facility on property.
You’ll find most of the water sport activities are also available directly from Kaanapali Beach which makes it so convenient and hard to resist the sunset catamaran trips or even perhaps the exciting Parasail adventures! Or just stroll down the boardwalk and enjoy the fabulous views and tropical gardens all around you.

R E S E R V A T I O N P O L I C Y
Please read the important information below carefully. Guests are required to accept the terms and conditions of this Reservation Policy. Contact our office should you have any questions. We look forward to your visit.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check-in time is any time after 3:00 pm. Check-out is any time before 11:00 am.
Requests for early check-in or late check-out are required a minimum of 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival or departure and will be granted based on availability. Fees do apply. If available, the charge is a 1/2-day rate for early arrival or late check-out up to 2:00 pm. The charge is a full-day rate for late check-out after 2:00 pm. Requests for early check-in or late check-out less than 72 hours in advance, if available, may incur additional “late notify” fees assessed by our vendors.
If you are scheduled on a late flight, we recommend that you consider booking the unit for an additional night to ensure availability. If you are still occupying the unit beyond check-out time, late check-out fees are automatically assessed.
Occupancy is restricted to the pre-approved number of guests. Extra occupants will result in additional charges and, depending on the house rules of the property, may serve as just cause for eviction or termination of the reservation.
RATES / FEES
All rates are per night, based on a minimum stay of four (4) nights during regular seasons, or a minimum stay of ten (10) nights for holiday season reservations (mid-December through the first 7 days of January). Any stay less than the minimum requirements may be subject to additional fees. Some properties are subject to guest services fees, registration fees, and/or parking fees. Maui Beachfront Rentals has no control over fees from resorts or vendors – cleaning fees and/or resort registration/parking/guest services fees may be subject to change until your final balance due date.
All rates are subject to applicable Hawaii State Taxes, currently General Excise Tax (GET) of 4.167% and Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT) of 9.25%. TAT goes up to 10.25% effective Jan 1, 2018 and affects all travel from Jan 1, 2018 and forward.
A minimum deposit of three (3) nights rent is required to confirm a reservation for up to a 20-night stay, and the final balance is due 45 days prior to arrival. To confirm a reservation of 21 nights or more, a minimum deposit of seven (7) nights rent is required, and the final balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. Final balance for holiday season reservations is due September 1st.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
We accept payment by credit card, check, or e Check (some restrictions apply for electronic withdrawals from guest checking accounts). Transactions on international credit cards (any card not issued by a banking institution in the US) incur an additional 3.00% surcharge. To pay by eCheck (electronic withdrawal from your checking account), provide an image of a check instead of mailing a check so that we can verify account and routing numbers. If the address shown on a check or eCheck image is not correct, please be sure to let us know as this can affect delivery of any refund check issued. Electronic eCheck withdrawals can only be processed on US-based bank accounts. For our international guests, please understand that
a US-dollar account with an international bank is not the same as an account with a banking institution in the US. Some international banking institutions do have US branches – the routing number is the only verification as to whether it is a US-based account. We will be happy to verify your routing number before you decide on method of payment.
Notwithstanding our payment policies, we cannot accept any check or eCheck transactions within 4 weeks of arrival as we do not have adequate time to clear a check or eCheck transaction. All checks or eCheck images must be received by Maui Beachfront Rentals on or before the final balance due date. The only exception is security deposit checks for holiday season reservations, which are required 60 days prior to arrival even though the remainder of the final balance is due by September 1st. Returned checks or reversed eCheck transactions incur a fee of $25 or 10% of the amount of the transaction, whichever is greater. Any eCheck transaction reversed for insufficient funds will prohibit that checking account from being used for any further eCheck transactions.
Security deposits – if selected instead of Damage Waiver insurance – can only be paid by check or eCheck transaction in US dollars. Physical checks must be in USD but may be from a non-US bank, while eCheck transactions MUST be from a US-based account.
We must have a valid credit card on file for all reservations, regardless of method of payment. All persons providing payment on a reservation must sign and return an Acceptance of Reservation Policy form, even if that person will not be staying in the unit.

You may cancel your reservation for any reason up to the final balance due date, or until final payment has been made, whichever is earlier, and get a full refund less a non-refundable $125 cancellation fee. Insurance premiums paid prior to the final balance due date are not refundable. International surcharges (3.00%) on applicable credit card payments are also not refundable.
No refunds are given for unused nights, late arrival, early departure, or no-shows. Should guest fail to make payment on or before the final balance due date, the reservation may be declared in default and all monies forfeited.
In view of our strict cancellation policy, we strongly recommend that guests consider purchasing travel insurance.
Travel insurance can be purchased through Maui Beachfront Rentals (MBR) to protect your investment at a cost of 6.95% of room and taxes. Our preferred provider, CSA Travel Protection Services, offers a 10-day “free look” period. You can get a refund of travel insurance premium within 10 days from date of purchase as long as you have not yet left for your trip or filed a claim. Otherwise, travel insurance premiums are not refundable.

Travel insurance coverage can be purchased up until your final balance due date. Benefits take effect at 12:01 am the day following purchase of the coverage. Additional coverage for other non-refundable vacation costs (such as airline tickets, excursion tickets, etc.) can be added onto your CSA policy at the same cost or less: 6.95% of the additional coverage desired.

DAMAGES / MISSING ITEMS
Each unit’s inventory is inspected prior to each guest arrival and again immediately following each guest departure. Charges will be assessed for the repair / replacement of any damaged or missing items. In view of our strict damages policy, we urge our guests to consider purchasing CSA Vacation Rental Damage Protection (referred to as “Damage Waiver”) at a one-time cost of $45 per reservation, which can be added to the balance and paid by credit card.

Guests understand that security deposits cannot be paid by credit card.
Guests agree that any damages exceeding the damage protection coverage or refundable security deposit will be charged to the credit card on file. To help you make your selection, please review the documents sent to you – the options are briefly outlined below:
Damage Waiver Insurance
The CSA Vacation Rental Damage Protection plan is designed to cover unintentional damages to the rental unit interior or lanai that occur during your stay, provided they are disclosed to MBR prior to check-out or upon receipt of MBR’s post-departure room inspection. The policy will pay a maximum benefit of $3,000. Any damages that exceed $3,000 or are not covered under the plan will be charged to the credit card on file. The policy can be purchased until arrival. By paying for the policy, you authorize and request CSA Travel Protection and Insurance Services to pay Maui Beachfront Rentals directly any amount payable under the terms and conditions of the policy.

If you do not purchase the Damage Waiver insurance described above, a refundable security deposit of $3,000 USD will be required on or before your final balance due date. The only exception is holiday season reservations whose final balance is due on September 1st, and the refundable security deposit on those reservations is due 60 days prior to arrival.
Security deposit checks are deposited; in the case of eCheck transactions, funds are withdrawn. Only one refund check can be issued for a security deposit. If multiple parties are splitting costs on a reservation, plan accordingly. Refund checks will be processed 10-14 business days following departure and mailed to the designated party at the address provided. Reservations booked within 4 weeks of arrival do not allow adequate time to clear a check or eCheck payment fully through our payment processors. These conditions mandate the purchase of Damage Waiver insurance.
If your security deposit transaction has already been processed and you subsequently elect to purchase the Damage Waiver insurance instead, we will provide a Change of Damage Protection Option form.
PAYMENT OF FINAL BALANCE
For balances due on any reservation, payment arrangements must be made in advance of the final balance due date. Guests are required to select one of the following options on our Acceptance of Reservation Policy form:
Please be aware that mailing a check can take longer than anticipated, particularly for international guests. Allow ample time for delivery if you plan to mail a check for your final balance. MBR cannot be responsible for mailed payments that do not arrive. In the unfortunate event you mail a payment and we do not receive it, you will need to provide an alternate form of payment. For that reason, we suggest not mailing money orders or other payment instruments which are treated as “cash” as your options for tracking and replacement may be limited.
EXTENSIVE CLEANING FEE
Each unit is inspected prior to each guest arrival and again immediately following each guest departure. Should your unit require excessive cleaning following your departure, additional charges will apply, and cannot be covered by Damage Waiver insurance.
The most common causes for excessive cleaning charges include (but are not limited to):
o Sand in drains, on floors, in washers and dryers – excessive trash or food/dirty dishes throughout unit
o Furnishings that have been moved or disassembled
COMMON HOUSE RULES
Every resort has “quiet hours” – please see your in-room directory for the exact hours. Please be conscious of noise from any source in order that other residents shall not be disturbed. Please follow any property rules that may be outlined in your in room directory.
o To avoid sewage issues, please do not discard anything except toilet tissue into toilets, including so-called “flushable wipes” as they typically clog sewage lines
o To avoid kitchen plumbing issues, please do not attempt to process pineapple rinds, fibrous vegetable waste, potato peels, pasta or rice through the garbage disposal
o No throwing/sweeping of litter or liquids from lanais, and no clothing or towels are allowed on railings or walls
o No fireworks, hazardous materials, or dangerous activities are allowed
NO SMOKING POLICY
All units are designated NON-SMOKING. You have rented a non-smoking home. Each unit is inspected prior to your arrival and immediately after your departure. The process to return a smoke-contaminated unit back into a sanitized non-smoking status can cost in excess of $1,000 depending on the size of the unit. In order to avoid these damage costs – which cannot be covered by Damage Waiver insurance – please refrain from smoking in the home or on lanai areas. Should someone smoke in the home or cause smoke to enter the home, the total cost to return the unit to a non-smoking status will be applied.
The resorts also have smoking restrictions. If your resort has designated smoking areas, please be sure to smoke only in those areas. Depending on the property, smoking on property in violation of the house rules can be cause for fines, and possible eviction or termination of the reservation.
Amenities and furnishings in each unit are the property of individual condo owners. We do not allow any exchange of furnishings or amenities from any of the units. If your party rents multiple units, do not take items between units. Units do not all come equipped with beach chairs, snorkel/beach equipment, laundry soap, personal toiletries, or food condiments. Some exceptions may apply based on individual owner discretion. Changes in inventory and décor may occur from time to time without prior notice. For your convenience, units are stocked with a starter supply of toilet paper, tissue, bar soap, paper towels, dishwashing soap, and spare trash can liners. Replenishment of these items, if needed during your stay, is the responsibility of the guest.
Although daily maid service is not provided, periodic mid-stay cleaning or linen or towel exchanges are available upon request. Fees apply. We require a minimum 72 hours advance notification in order to schedule additional maid services. Mid-stay cleaning services or a linen or towel exchange will occur sometime between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm on the scheduled date. Some reservations of 14 nights or more require additional cleaning services listed in your reservation charges. If you would like to change the pre-scheduled date for one of those services, please contact Maui Beachfront Rentals at least 72
prior to the scheduled date. If you turn away housekeeping vendors for scheduled services, including check-out, there are additional “turn-away” fees assessed which must be passed on to the guest.
Rollaway beds, cribs, pack-n-plays, strollers, high chairs and other items are available at an additional cost. Requests can be accommodated providing we receive at least 72 hours advance notice. MBR reserves the right to pre-approve all third-party vendors if hired directly by guests or their agents. Please notify us in advance if you have arranged a rental through a third-party vendor. Some resorts have very specific insurance requirements and will not allow all vendors on property. If you hire a vendor that does not have the necessary insurance on file with the property, Maui Beachfront Rentals is not able to grant access to the unit.
INTERRUPTION OF SERVICES / DISTURBANCES
MBR will make every effort to ensure that all appliances and equipment are in proper working order. Unexpected failure of any equipment/appliances will not constitute a guest refund. Provided that MBR is promptly notified of any property or equipment defects, malfunctions, or damages, be assured that MBR will make every effort to remedy the breakdown as soon as possible to minimize guest inconvenience.
MBR has no control and is not responsible for disturbances caused by adjacent properties or from nearby units within the same property. Any incidents reported will not constitute a guest refund. However, be assured that MBR will make every effort possible to minimize guest inconvenience within our control.
Should maintenance issues arise, guests are required to allow reasonable access to the property to provide remedy, and to make necessary inspections and repairs. Each property has quarterly pest control services which treat for pests found in tropical climates. Pest control issues will not constitute a guest refund. However, MBR will contact a licensed contractor to make every effort to eradicate the problem as soon as possible. Maintaining a food-free sink, garbage disposal, countertops, floors, and trash will help to minimize the proliferation of tropical pests.
LOST / FOUND OR ADVANCE SHIPPING
Do not leave the unit unsecured. MBR is not responsible for theft or loss of guest belongings from the property. MBR is not responsible for items lost or items left in the unit upon your departure. Requests for articles left in a unit to be shipped to a guest are subject to the applicable shipping fees as well as an MBR handling fee of $25. Depending on circumstances, additional fees could apply.
If your plans call for shipping goods to yourself in advance of your arrival, please be aware there are limitations. It is not possible to ship directly to a condo or resort. Very small packages may sometimes be sent to our office on or after your arrival date, but only with advance notice, and we do not have the facilities to store packages.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Reservations are subject to availability. Because Maui Beachfront Rentals acts as a rental agent for individual homeowners, rental accommodations cannot be completely controlled. While problems very rarely occur, a situation could arise whereby the accommodations specified on your confirmation become unavailable – due to strikes, acts of God, failure of guests to vacate as scheduled, and/or sale of properties. Maui Beachfront Rentals reserves the right to substitute alternate accommodations up to and including the day of arrival. If Maui Beachfront Rentals has no acceptable alternate accommodations within their own inventory, guests will be provided with a full refund, which constitutes the full extent of liability assumed by Maui Beachfront Rentals.
Beaches and shorelines in Hawaii are public domain. The public has rights of access to the ocean and shoreline from the water to the high-water mark on land. Most beach/oceanfront properties are in hurricane and tidal wave and/or flood zones. June through mid-December is hurricane season in Hawaii. Guests must comply with any evacuation orders issued by local authorities. Hawaii also experiences unpredictable weather. Temporary power outages or surges and/or phone, cable, internet, or water supply interruptions are always possible. Such interruptions will not constitute a guest refund.
ACCEPTANCE OF RESERVATION POLICY
At least one guest on any reservation (and any guest providing full or partial payment on the reservation) is required to sign and return our Acceptance of Reservation Policy form, which affirms that guests have read and agree to the terms and conditions of this Reservation Policy.
Every reservation must have at least one (1) credit card provided, even if payment is being made by check or eCheck. A separate Reservation Policies and Authorization form must be signed by the cardholder for each credit card used for payment on a reservation.
Payment of Deposit and Final Balance: Prepayment of deposit (or payment in full if reservation was booked after the final balance due date) was authorized at time of booking.
